Chinese President Xi Jinping called for all out efforts in saving the injured and the search for missing individuals after a large section of a coal mine in Alxa league in Inner Mongolia collapsed on Wednesday, resulting in more than 50 trapped, two showed no signs of life.
The Chinese city of Hangzhou announced on Wednesday new subsidies for families with two children worth 5,000 yuan ($726.8) and 20,000 ($2,907) for those with three; a move aimed at encouraging larger families.
